Mary Webb

“…an original music prodigy.” -Stereonet 2017

Captivating vocals, catchy, offbeat guitar picking and a swig of poetry, you can see why Mary Webb has been described as “a shining light” in the Adelaide Folk scene. Drawing on a vast array of musical influences, Mary’s songs are thoughtful yet frank, exploring human fragility, self-discovery and connection.

Her second studio album ‘Love Like Planets’ was recorded in January 2017 at Snow Ghost Studies in Montana, USA. While her previous releases have been predominantly acoustic, the new album also features an impressive four-piece studio band form Portland. Band mates include Cory Gray (keys, trumpet; appears on records by Decemberists, Grails, Nocturnal Habits, Norfolk & Western, The Dodos, Hosannas, Mirah), Daniel Hindman (guitar; co-creator of the band Pure Bathing Culture), Brian Wright (drums; Pure Bathing Culture) and Zachary Tillman (bass; Pearly Gate Music, Fleet Foxes). The full album will be released in February 2018, with CD, Vinyl and hi-res download available.

The Winter Gypsy

The Winter Gypsy are a six-piece indie folk group from Adelaide, South Australia. Forming as a collusion of four separate bands in August, 2015, the band ranges from soft folk melodies and haunting vocal harmonies to soaring, upbeat instrumentals. The band has a complex dichotomy of both ambient and driving, distorted solos. Drawing comparisons to The Middle East, Bon Iver, and Bombay Bicycle Club, their sound is complemented by an intense and intricate range of instruments. The Winter Gypsy will be playing as a three piece for this show.
